Big money if correctly logged - First stock 7meters 1000 dollar!
The price on oak is very high, the first meter is critical to do right before selling the logs.
We call it " lumpa" when you remove the " stjärn spricka" star burst.
To get A quality or higher you need to remove these faults in the timber. You need to sacrifice wood to win.
It was raining so my camera got messed up a couple of times in the video.
Enjoy!

Great felling and pretty forest, is it yours? Keep the videos coming i really enjoy them🤙
Thanks alot. No it's not my forest!
Lumpa eller toppa?
Is that a beech tree ? I cannot determine...
Yes it is a old hag
Hey my friend - long time no see ! Glad You`re back ! First cut out the "heart" to prevent the fiber pulling out, than the plunge cut to prevent the tree from splitting...great job of a true professional ! Beautiful log and a good - looking wedge 😉 Oak is one of the most valuable tree types, it has always been among the most expensive ones, especially the high - quality logs without branches and other defects. Good video. Thanx for sharing !
That is a good explanation!
I've only seen truck after truck with pulpwood today, so some high quality oak timber is a sight for sore eyes😃
Haha yes!!!!

Haha the timing was perfect!! How are you and had it started snowing at yours?
@@Skogskompaniet very good timing indeed ! Yes it was snowing for a few days and it all melted down, now it's mud everywhere...i like snow better than mud...
@@DeadWoodLogging6996 me 2, but our snow is still here!! It's not common to stay on the ground so long. Mud mud mud here to.

Merci
Finally someone who knows how to cut
Thank you
How NO to cut you mean.
How to cut he meant
@@jhuntley575 no NOT TO....absolute.
@@richardhessing1283 explain please
I would never do this as you are completely ruining the hinge which is the most important thing to maintain if you want to control where the tree will fall.
I know what I'm doing
@Hunaba please explain it to me. Why are you cutting into the wood that should be your hinge? Edit: I looked at the video again, and you do leave most of the hinge in place and seem to make sure the center of the tree is bored out. Was this because the bar is too short to do a bore plunge from the side that would preserve the whole hinge?
@@charles-andrecomeau3754 that is correct, we use 16 to 18" bars and some trees u do need to use this technique to come tru it all, and when we use this it's smaller chance to get fiber extractoin
@Hunaba why are you running such short bars?
@@briangabriel4165 weight, and we use 50cc saws the most here
So hard to handle when growing in bushes (hazel, linden, dogwood..)Dogwood is absolutely the worst to process, it's a real nightmare when it's growing thick on a steep terrain.. You handled it like a pro !
I'm. Not sure we have dogwood? Here in Sweden. Can you show me a pic. Yes hazel can be really dangerous to handle
Or is it hägg? Haha in that case I totally agree! It's the worse!!!
@@Skogskompaniet the latest oak-forest thinning i did this year was a real nightmare-there were whole sections of dogwood bushes entangled together-cannot bring them down, i separate the tree top, branch by branch and it still remains standing...so many cuts required to bring it to the ground, it really can be tiresome. It's like a bad joke...kinda funny when i think of it now, when it's all over...
@@Skogskompaniet it's called cornus mas so look it up on wikipedia-that sort grows around here. The hardest tree known to me either to cut or to split.Leaves can cause a rash on the skin if it touches it.A nightmare tree to process...
@@DeadWoodLogging6996 I feel you, we have the same here Prunus padus. It's a nightmare especially when a machine just drives over it and it starts to root everywhere.
Nicely done! It looks like a dull chain.
Thank you! No chain is good
The title should have been : "don't try this with a tree 50 cm in diameter..."😂
Haha no don't do that! Only light weight trees
@@Skogskompaniet yeah, just kidding. That's one of the advantages of thin forest... Good video as always my friend !
